Tips for taking care of your lawn in the summer months:
Mowing:
- Raise mower height to top setting (3-3 ½ inches)
- Sharpen mower blade
(Reminder: Sharpen on Memorial Day, 4th of July, & Labor Day as a minimum)
- Keep mower clean
- Remove only 1/3 of the blade per mowing
- Mow your lawn during the cool part of the day

Watering:
- 1 ½ – 2 inches of moisture per week (to include Mother Nature’s help)
- Watering restrictions are in effect (Even house numbers on even days, etc.)
- If only watering 2 times per week, be sure to put down 1 inch per watering
Fertilization:
- Summertime fertilization is beneficial – even if lawn has gone dormant
- Consistent timely applications (dry or liquid) will help grass through summer stress
