Summer Alerts

Tips for taking care of your lawn in the summer months:

Mowing: 

  •      Raise mower height to top setting (3-3 ½ inches)
  •      Sharpen mower blade

 (Reminder: Sharpen on Memorial Day, 4th of July, & Labor Day as a minimum)

  •      Keep mower clean
  •      Remove only 1/3 of the blade per mowing
  •      Mow your lawn during the cool part of the day

 Watering:

  • 1 ½ – 2 inches of moisture per week (to include Mother Nature’s help)
  •     Watering restrictions are in effect (Even house numbers on even days, etc.)
  • If only watering 2 times per week, be sure to put down 1 inch per watering

 

Fertilization:

  •      Summertime fertilization is beneficial – even if lawn has gone dormant
  •      Consistent timely applications (dry or liquid) will help grass through summer stress
